Baked Kataifi Prawns with Muhumara Sauce

This stunning, simple and spicy prawn dish is perfect for summer.


  • 6 large king prawns, peeled except for head and tail

  • Kataifi pastry

  • 1 tbsp olive oi

  • Muhumara Sauce

  • 50g walnuts

  • 2 capsicums, roasted and peeled

  • ½ tbsp harissa

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 240ml olive oil

  • 1 tsp tomato paste

  • 1 clove garlic, peeled


  • 1.

    Place all Muhamara sauce ingredients in a food processor and blend to a coarse paste consistency.

  • 2.

    Wrap Kataifi around prawns.

  • 3.

    Place on a tray, drizzle with olive oil and bake in oven at 180 degrees C.

  • 4.

    Serve with Muhamara sauce.
