Try this easy-to-prepare Miso Salmon Wrapped in Fillo


  • 2 tbs. miso paste

  • 1 tbs. soy sauce

  • 1 ½ tbs. brown sugar

  • ½ knob of ginger, grated

  • 1 tbs. boiling water

  • 2 x 180g salmon steaks, skin removed and pin boned

  • 3 sheets of fillo

  • 20g butter, melted


  • 1.

    Pre heat the oven to 180C.

  • 2.

    For the marinade combine ingredients in a bowl. Cut the salmon steaks in half vertically. Place the four pieces in the marinade and coat. Set aside.

  • 3.

    To prepare the fillo, brush the first sheet with butter. Place the next sheet on top and butter again. Repeat process with the last sheet. Cut the filo stack into four.

  • 4.

    Place one salmon portion on the filo and wrap like a cigar. Brush with butter. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Repeat the process with the remaining salmon and bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until pastry is golden.
