This is a popular chinese dish that can be made within 30 min.It has a lovely orange flavour and taste in it..Crispy chicken pieces that are glazed with a sweet orange sauce..YUM YUM...This dish is mild in taste and it has a little sweet taste to it,which was perfect...When I came across this recipe,I thought “What orange in a chicken curry?That must be ridiculous..but once I made this dish,I was completely shut off...This dish tempted me to cook more chinese food like Lemon chicken,Sweet and Sour Chicken,Hot and Spicy Chicken...I will surely make these soon and post it..I beg you all to try this dish and please tell me how it came...


  • Chicken-250 gm boneless

  • Orange peel-1 tblspn sliced

  • Orange juice- ½ cup

  • Garlic-1 tblspn minced

  • Ginger-1 tblspn minced

  • Pepper-1 tsp

  • Soya sauce-1 tblspn

  • Vinegar-1 tblspn

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar-1 tblspn

  • Cornstarch slurry(1 tsp of cornflour mixed with 3 tblspn of water)

  • Oil for deep frying+1 tblspn oil

  • Spring onion or coriander leaves for garnishing

  • For Batter:

  • Maida- ½ cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Pepper-1 tsp


  • 1.

    Mix the ingrediants given for batter with water till it forms a batter.Dip the chicken pieces in this and fry till golden.Set this aside.

  • 2.

    Heat oil and fry some garlic and ginger.Add orange zest and fry for 30 sec.

  • 3.

    Add in soya sauce,vinegar,orange juice,pepper,salt and sugar to taste.

  • 4.

    Add in a cup of water and bring that to boil.

  • 5.

    Slowly add in the cornflour slurry and mix well till the sauce thickens.

  • 6.

    Add in the fried chicken pieces and toss well.

  • 7.

    Garnish with coriander leaves or spring onion and some orange pieces.

  • 8.

    Serve hot over a bed of hot rice.ENJOY...
