Smoked Tofu and Veggie Skewers

This recipe is from episode 21 of Good Chef Bad Chef series 3.


  • 1 packet smoked tofu, cut into 3cm cubes

  • 1 capsicum, cut into cubes

  • 1 zucchini, thickly sliced

  • 4 tbsp tamari

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, finely grated

  • 2 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp mirin

  • 1 handful of coriander leaves, to garnish


  • 1.

    Soak bamboo skewers in water for 5 min while preparing the vegetables (this will stop them burning).

  • 2.

    Heat fry pan or BBQ.

  • 3.

    Meanwhile to prepare skewers alternate between the tofu, capsicum and zucchini until it covers ¾ of the skewer.

  • 4.

    In a small bowl mix tamari, sesame and ginger.

  • 5.

    Marinate in ¾ of the dressing.

  • 6.

    Drizzle olive oil over the skewers then place in your pan or on the BBQ, cook for 1 min then turn, continue turning until each side is evenly cooked.

  • 7.

    Place the cooked veggie skewers on a large plate and evenly pour over the dressing, garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
