Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 small clove of garlic, if desired

  • 1 small fresh red chili, seeded, chopped finely

  • 1 shallot, finely chopped

  • 1/4 red onion chopped finely

  • pint of salt

  • Freshly cracked black pepper

Method

  • 1.

    Cut avocados in half, remove the stones and scoop the flesh onto a plate, mash well..Add lemon juice and garlic if desired, and mix well.

  • 2.

    Very finely chop chili and red onion and add to mixture together with chopped shallot..

  • 3.

    Stir in salt and cracked black pepper..

Notes

Serve with tortilla chips or use on wraps, burgers or sandwiches..
