Tender, marinated steaks are grilled and served with a steamed sugar and coconut rice.


  • Steak

  • 3 x 20mm cut slices rib eye steak

  • 2 Onions finely chopped

  • 4 Cloves Garlic

  • 2 Tomatoes chopped

  • 1 bunch Parsley finely chopped

  • 1 bunch shallot finely chopped

  • 1 small bottle tomato sauce

  • 1 L light Olive Oil

  • 1 small bottle Soy sauce

  • 1 cup long grain jasmine rice

  • 2 teaspoons Sugar

  • 1 tin Coconut cream

  • 4 Potatoes

  • Olive Oil

  • Butter

  • Chicken Salt for seasoning


  • Steak:

  • 1.

    For the marinade, combine onions, tomatoes, shallots, tomato sauce, olive oil and soy sauce.

  • 2.

    Mix well.

  • 3.

    Let steaks sit in marinade for at least half an hour.

  • 4.

    Have the hotplate peaking in temperature a good half an hour before wanting to cook,

  • 5.

    Place pot on hotplate and steam rice till cooked, add sugar and coconut cream.

  • 6.

    Combine butter, parsely and garlic to make Garlic Sauce.

  • 7.

    Fry Diced Potato in olive oil until golden brown baste with Garlic Sauce and sprinkle with chicken salt,

  • 8.

    Place steaks on hottest part of grill for one to two minutes each side and serve.


Make sure your hotplate is extremely hot before throwing on your steak always have your vegies and side dishes prepared before throwing you meat on the BBQ.
