Marzipan , chocolate , cherries and not just any cherries . These Cherries have been soaked in brandy to make these little gems the perfect gift for someone or your self!


  • 12 Glace Cherries

  • 2 Tbsp Rum or Brandy

  • 250g/9oz marzipan

  • 15g/4½ oz plain chocolate

  • Extra milk, plain or white chocolate to decorate (optional)


  • 1.

    Line a baking tray with a sheet of baking paper.

  • 2.

    Cut the cherries in half and place in a small bowl. Add the rum or brandy and stir to coat. Leave the cherries to soak for at least an hour stirring occasionally

  • 3.

    Divide the marzipan into 24 pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Press half the cherry into the top of each marzipan ball.

  • 4.

    Break the chocolate into pieces, place in a bowl and set over a saucepan. Stir until it has melted.

  • 5.

    Dip each sweet into the melted chocolate, using a cocktail stick and allowing the excess to drip back into the bowl. Place the coated cherries on the baking paper and chill until set.

  • 6.

    If you like, you can melt a little extra chocolate and drizzle it over the top of the coated cherries. Leave to set.
