A traditional Italian favorite


  • 350g plain or bakers flour

  • 1 tbs Baking powder

  • 220g Caster Sugar

  • 1 ts Vanilla Extract

  • 3 Eggs

  • 40ml Full cream milk

  • 40g Almonds (de husked)

  • 40g Pistachios (de shelled and washed)


  • 1.

    Preheat oven to 180C

  • 2.

    Sieve Flour, Baking powder and sugar into a large bowl

  • 3.

    Add eggs, milk and Vanila and mix well

  • 4.

    Add the Almonds, Pistachios and mix in a bowl

  • 5.

    Remove from the bowl onto a floured benchtop and roll into three long sausages

  • 6.

    Place onto baking paper and bake until lightly golden color

  • 7.

    Remove and let cool

  • 8.

    Cut thin slices on an angle, place back on the baking paper tray and under the grill

  • 9.

    Toast each side until golden
