Mix the cucumber and onion in a large bowl.
Add the sugar, salt and vinegar and mix well to combine.
Leave to rest for one hour before serving as desired.
TIP! Even though the cucumbers will lose their vibrant green colour, they will keep for weeks and weeks and weeks!
