Mee Goreng or fried noodle

This noodle is also called Mama Mee Goreng which is Indian style fried noodle.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of water

  • 300 gm hokkien noodle

  • Ingredients 1

  • 100gms uncooked prawns

  • 2 potatoes - cubed and fried

  • 1 small firm tofu - can be found in Woollies - cubed and fried

  • 1 spanish onion - diced

  • Ingredients 2

  • 2 tablespoons of sambal olek

  • 3 tablespoons tomato sauce

  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce

  • 1 tablespoon kicap manis or sweet soy sauce

  • Ingredients 3

  • 3 eggs - slightly whisked

  • Ingredieints 4

  • 200 gms bean sprouts

  • 2 green chillie - remove seeds and cut into thick pieces

  • 1 lemon - squeeze for juice

  • Ingredients 5

  • Extra lemon wedges

Method

  • 1.

    Pour 1 cup of water into a hot wok - let it boil

  • 2.

    Add hokkien noodle - cover and cook for 5 mins

  • 3.

    Add Ingredients 1 - stir and cook for 3 mins

  • 4.

    Add Ingredients 2 - Stir and cook for 3 mins

  • 5.

    Push the noodles to one side

  • 6.

    Add eggs and lightly scramble - mix noodles and eggs together

  • 7.

    Cover and cook for 3 mins

  • 8.

    Add Ingredients 4 and stir and cook for 2 mins

  • 9.

    Serve with extra lemon wedges

Notes

This is a moist healthy noodle with very little oil. Remainig noodles can be made into frittata.
