Vegetable Chow Faan

Mild delicious cooked vegetables on steam rice.

Ingredients

  • VEGETABLE CHOW-CHOW FAAN

  • This is a surprisingly quick and economical dish. It is sure to tickle your taste buds. Assemble all the ingredients before you start the actual cooking.

  • Cooking Time : 10 mins.

  • Preparation Time : 15 mins.

  • Serves 4.

  • Ingredients

  • ¼ cup spring onion whites, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon celery, chopped

  • ¼ cup carrots, sliced (parboiled)

  • ¼ cup capsicum, sliced

  • ½ cup cauliflower florets (parboiled)

  • ½ cup cabbage, shredded

  • ¼ cup French beans, cut into 25 mm. (1") pieces

  • ¼ cup cucumber, sliced

  • ½ teaspoon Ajinomoto powder (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon cornflour mixed with 1 cup water

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • ½ teaspoon soya sauce

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • salt to taste

    1. Heat the oil, add the spring onion whites, garlic and celery and sauté over a high flame for a few seconds.

  • 3.

    2. Add the carrots, capsicum, cauliflower, cabbage, French beans, cucumber and Ajinomoto and stir fry over a high flame for 2 to 3 minutes.

  • 4.

    3. Add the cornflour paste, sugar, soya sauce and salt and simmer for 2 minutes.

  • 5.

    4. Serve hot with Steam Rice

Notes

The cuisine should be served Hot directly on plate to serve.You can use hot chiili sauce separetly as per taste.
