This traditional yet easy recipe for Chinese white radish cake is a great way to celebrate the Chinese new year in your home!
Place all ingredients in a large bowl, add water as necessary to create a loose batter, roughly the consistency of double cream (it should coat the back of a spoon).
Place the mixture into a heat proof bowl suspended over a large pot of simmering water.
Cover with a lid and steam for 35 – 45 minutes (keep an eye on the water level in the pot), or until the mixture has set.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
When it is cool turn it out of the bowl, slice into squares the size of your palm.
Pan fry in a little oil and serve garnished with fried spring onions.
