great and quick little dessert or sweet snack for high tea!!!


  • 2 sheets filo pastry

  • 25 g melted butter

  • 3/4 cup dry roasted hazlenuts

  • 2 tablespoons of honey

  • 2 tbsp nutella

  • 100g dark chocolate


  • 1.

    Pre heat oven to 200c

  • 2.

    Line a baking tray with paper

  • 3.

    Place 1 sheet of pastry on surface

  • 4.

    Brush with butter

  • 5.

    Top with remaining sheet

  • 6.

    Brush with butter

  • 7.

    Cut the rectangle into quarters

  • 8.

    Then cut each in half to make 8 portions

  • 9.

    Combine nuts, honey and nutella

  • 10.

    Spoon 1 tablespoon of mix on each pastry portion

  • 11.

    Brush the edges with butter

  • 12.

    Start from the long side and roll each one into a cigar shape

  • 13.

    Folding in the edges as u go to enclose

  • 14.

    Place the cigars on prepared baking tray and brush with remaining butter

  • 15.

    Bake for 10 minutes til crisp then remove from oven and cool

  • 16.

    Place chocolate in a microwave safe ceramic or glass bowl and microwave for 1 minute

  • 17.

    Remove and stir to continue the melting process, (if it needs more just do 20 sec increments)

  • 18.

    Dip each cigar in the chocolate then place on a wire rack to set

  • 19.



also great if u dip in chopped nuts after the chocolate dip.
if u wanted to you could add extra nutella, cut out the chocolate coating at the end and sprinkle with icing sugar instead.
