It's a family favourite as it's easy to prepare and it tastes so nice, especially the mince with all of the other ingredients that are cooked with it.

  • 500 g premium mince

  • 2 onions, chopped small

  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped finely

  • 1 X 400 g can chopped tomatoes

  • 1 X 400 g can condensed tomato soup

  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • Salt and pepper

  • 350 g of vermicelli or spaghetti pasta, cooked according to the packet's directions.

  • Parmesan cheese, to serve

  • 1.

Gently cook the mince in a dry frypan, tipping out any excess fat that is rendered.

  • 2.

Add the onion and the garlic and continue cooking for 10 minutes.

  • 3.

Add the remainder of the ingredients, stir well and cook gently for a further 15 minutes.

  • 4.

Cook the pasta according to the directions on the packet during the last 15 minutes that the mince is cooking.

  • 5.

Serve the mince with the pasta. Sprinkle with the cheese.

I even like adding small chunks of browned beef in there too - yummy little nuggets of flavour
