Mel’s entrée recipe from week 3 of Come Dine With Me Australia.


  • 2 big handfuls of King Prawns Cleaned & Chopped into small pieces

  • 1 Ginger cut fine Size of a small thumb

  • 2 Shallots

  • 1 teaspoon Sugar

  • Chinese cooking wine or vinegar (about 2 counts worth)

  • Soya Sauce (about 2 counts worth)

  • Oyster Sauce (about 1 count worth)

  • Sesame Oil (about 2 counts worth)

  • Ketchup Manis (about 2 counts worth)

  • 1 packet of Wanton Skins


  • 1.

    Combine all ingredients except ketchup manis & wonton skins

  • 2.

    Marinate in fridge for at least 20 mins

  • 3.

    Once the prawns are marinated get the wonton skins and make little parcels with prawn fillings.

  • 4.

    Steam for about 3-5 minutes in a steamer

  • 5.

    Serve with sauce of choice.
