Chocolate Caramel Candy

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup(6 oz.) Milk Chocolate Chips

  • ¼ Cup Butterscotch Chips

  • ¼ Cup Creamy Peanut Butter

  • Filling:

  • ¼ Cup Butter or Margarine

  • 1 Cup Sugar

  • ¼ Cup Evaporated Milk

  • 1 ½ Cups Marshmallow Fluff

  • ¼ Cup Creamy Peanut Butter

  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla

  • 1 ½ Cups Chopped, salted Peanuts

  • Caramel Layer:

  • 1 14 oz. pkg. Caramels

  • ¼ Cup Whipping Cream

  • Icing:

  • 1 Cup(6 oz.) Milk Chocolate Chips

  • ¼ Cup Butterscotch Chips

  • ¼ Cup Creamy Peanut Butter

Method

  • 1.

    Line a 13” X 9” pan with foil.

    2. Butter foil.

  • 3.

    Set aside.

  • 4.

    4. Combine the first three ingredients in a small saucepan.

  • 5.

    5. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth.

  • 6.

    6. Spread into prepared pan.

  • 7.

    7. Chill until set.

  • 8.

    Filling:

  • 9.

    1. Melt the Butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat.

  • 10.

    2. Add Sugar and Milk.

  • 11.

    3. Bring to a gentle boil.

  • 12.

    4. Reduce heat to medium-low.

  • 13.

    5. Boil and stir for 5 minutes.

  • 14.

    6. Remove from the heat.

  • 15.

    7. Stir in Marshmallow Fluff, Peanut Butter and Vanilla.

  • 16.

    8. Add Peanuts.

  • 17.

    9. Spread over first layer.

  • 18.

    10. Chill until set.

  • 19.

    Caramel Layer:

  • 20.

    1. Combine Caramels and Cream in a saucepan.

  • 21.

    2. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth.

  • 22.

    3. Cook and stir 4 minutes longer.

  • 23.

    4. Spread over filling.

  • 24.

    5. Chill until set.

  • 25.

    Icing;

  • 26.

    1. In another saucepan, combine Chips and Peanut Butter.

  • 27.

    2. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth.

  • 28.

    3. Pour over Caramel Layer.

  • 29.

    4. Chill for at least 4 hours.

  • 30.

    5. Remove from the refrigerator 20 minutes before cutting.

  • 31.

    6. Remove from the pan and cut into 1 inch squares.

Notes

Serves: 8 dozen

Comments: I let each layer chill for about an hour before adding next one.

Well worth the time it takes. Very addictive.

I've got a pack of nestle Butterscotch chips and a jar of marshmallow fluff sitting in my pantry just waiting to be used up - thanks for posting this recipe Charlie!
