This recipe for mud crab sandwiches with spicy harissa mayonnaise makes a special snack or light meal.


  • 1 cup cooked Crabmeat

  • 8 Slices white bread crusts removed

  • good quality Butter to butter the bread

  • 1 teaspoon Harissa

  • 4 tablespoons good quality mayonnaise or Aioli

  • sea salt

  • White pepper

  • 1 Lemon zest only

  • thinly cut iceberg lettuce


  • 1.

    Butter the bread thinly

  • 2.

    Mix the crab with all the other ingredients except the lettuce

  • 3.

    Place the crab mix on the bread and top with the lettuce

  • 4.

    Top with the other piece of bread and cut into thirds
