Incredibly easy and packed with flavour, this was created as perfect post-pub food.
It can be stacked higher to accommodate however, many people you are feeding and requires very little by way of skill.
Ben was doubtful that the flavour of Parma ham and sweet chilli sauce was a tasty combination but it proved a winner.
Silvana Franco’s Chilli Cheese Tortilla Sandwich:
Heat a large, non-stick frying pan.
Place one flatbread or flour tortilla in the hot pan and arrange the cheese on top.
Tear over the Parma ham and basil leaves and then drizzle over some sweet chilli sauce, top with the remaining bread and cook for a further minute or so until the underside is crisp and flecked with brown spots.
Turn the sandwich and cook for a further 1 minute.
Cut into wedges, fold a paper napkin round and eat hot.
If you are feeding more than one person, once you have turned the sandwich, scatter over more of the filling followed by another flatbread, before turning and cooking for an extra minute.
Continue to layer in the same way, but take care as you turn over the stack.
