Great winter warmer!
Chop all the vegetables except the garlic. Add to the chicken stock in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Add the spices and garlic. Simmer for 30 mins.
Melt butter in another small saucepan and add flour. Whisk in the milk gradually and heat until thickened. Add this to the cooked vegetable mix and season with salt and pepper. Continue to simmer for a further 30 mins or until the mixture thickens.
You can serve the soup straight away or blend for a smoother finish.
