A basic macaroni and cheese pie is topped with rashers of crispy bacon.
Preheat the oven to moderate. Cook the macaroni in salted boiling water until tender. Cook the bacon in a non-stick pan, just lightly. Grease a pie dish with spray-on oil, drain the macaroni and place half in the pie dish, then half the bacon, then half the grated cheese, then repeat until all the ingredients are used. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and milk together using a fork, the pour over the top of the other ingredients. Place the pie dish into the oven and cook for 30 minutes.
