Mum used to make it for us when we were kids.
Brown the chicken pieces is heavy frypan. (I prefer to skin the legs, but they are fine with skin on)
Remove chicken and place in a casserole dish.
Put oil in frypan, saute onions until clear, add all other ingredients and bring to the boil. Pour over chicken and bake approx 200 celcius for around 1.5 hours basting & turning occasionally.
Serve with rice and salad.
