  • 750 grams chuck steak diced (we use diced beef casserole meat)

  • 2 tablespoons plain flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1-2 medium carrots, thinly sliced

  • 1 medium onion , thinly sliced and separated into rings

  • 1 can tomato puree

  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup vinegar

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 tablespooon Worcestershire sauce


  • 1.

    Stir beef, flour and salt in a 2 litre casserole dish until beef is coated. Add

    remaining ingredients.

    Microwave, covered at HIGH (100%) for 5 minutes. Reduce power to

    Medium, (50%). Microwave until beef is tender, 50 minutes to 1 hour, 2 or

    3 times during cooking. Let stand for 5 - 10 minutes. Serve over rice or

  • 6.

    noodles if desired.
