This great simple pasta recipe can be served hot for a delicious family dinner or cold as a pasta salad at a barbecue.


  • 400g penne pasta

  • ½ pumpkin, cut into small cubes

  • 1 bunch sage, leaves removed

  • 100g butter

  • Salt and pepper


  • 1.

    Cook penne according to packet instructions, drain and set aside.

  • 2.

    Roast pumpkin in a preheated oven for ½ an hour or until cooked.

  • 3.

    Melt butter in a small saucepan, then add the sage leaves and cook until the leaves are crispy and the butter has turned a gentle nut brown colour.

  • 4.

    Combine the pasta, pumpkin, sage and butter and mix to combine.
