First tasted this in a restaurant in New Orleans and have been scouring the net ever since to find a recipe. Imagine a chocolate and peanut butter cheesecake. It is absolutely heart stopping! If you like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups then this is the pie for you.
Preheat oven to 180C
Combine chocolate and butter in a glass bowl and microwave til butter and chocolate is melted.
Finely crush Oreos, put into bowl with chocolate and butter mix and stir.
Press mixture into the bottom of a 9 inch springform tin and 1 1/2 inches up the side.
Bake crust for 10 mins.
Cool and set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, peanut butter, sugar, salt and vanilla extract until blended.
In another bowl using the same beaters, whip the cream until firm.
Fold a third of the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture then fold the rest of the cream in.
Fold in half of the chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
Spoon filling into crust, smoothing surface.
Drizzle the top with caramel topping and chocolate topping and the sprinkle the remainder of the chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups over.
Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
