Ostrich

The ostrich is a large flightless bird from Africa. The ostrich is farmed in many countries for its feathers, skin and meat. Its meat is becoming increasingly popular and is sometimes compared to lean beef. Ostrich can be used instead of beef or veal in many recipes and is particularly good for stir–frying. In South Africa it is dried and used to make biltong. The large ostrich eggs can also be used.
