Kedgeree

A popular English dish made of smoked fish, boiled eggs, curry powder and cream mixed into rice. The dish evolved from the Indian breakfast dish khichri made with boiled rice, lentils and spices. Kedgeree is best made using smoked haddock though any white or smoked fish will do, and some recipes use salmon. Kedgeree is traditionally served for breakfast but it does make an enjoyable light lunch or supper.
