Citrus Fruit

Citrus fruit are native to Asia and grow in tropical to temperate climates. The most important fruit of the citrus species are sweet orange, mandarin, grapefruit, lemon, lime, pummelo, citron and sour lemon. These eight varieties all cross–fertilize to produce other fruit. The pummelo, one of the most ancient of citrus, is the ancestor of the grapefruit. Other lesser–known citrus fruit include citrange, fortunella, kabosu, kalamarsi, lavender gem, limequat and tangelo.
