Caesar Salad

There are as many stories of the origin of this modern classic as there are latter day versions. It’s generally agreed that ingredients should at least include the following: cos (called Romaine in America) lettuce; coddled egg; anchovy; garlic; Worcestershire sauce; olive oil; Parmesan cheese; and croutons. It is a delicious salad, whether invented by Caesar Cardini in Mexico, or by his brother Alex in the racetrack restaurant in San Diego.
