Apple

Apples were one of the earliest cultivated fruits, and today there are around 8,000 varieties to choose from. Apples range in colour from red to yellow; their texture from firm to soft; and their taste from tart to sweet. High in vitamin C and fibre, apples are a healthy snack, a useful ingredient in both sweet and savoury dishes, and because of their high pectin content, are often used in jams and jellies.
