Michela Chiappa is a Welsh Italian home cook, tv presenter and entrepreneur who is passionate about classic Italian cookery, enjoying food and family together.
Growing up in the Welsh Valleys to Italian parents, Italian traditions were an important way of life and cooking was at the heart of Michela’s upbringing. Italian being her first language as a child, Michela and her sisters Emi and Romina were involved in the kitchen as soon as they could walk and talk. In the Chiappa household knowing how to cook and what to eat was and is as important as an education.
Michela and her sisters were first introduced to our screens in a four part cooking series called Simply Italian. The series aired in the UK and explored the art of making fresh pasta. A cookbook ‘Simply Italian’ accompanied the series and was filled with Chiappa family recipes and traditional Italian dishes from the Emilia Romagna region in Italy - the region that Michela’s family originate from. Many of the recipes were inspired and adapted from family favourites passed down to Michela and her sisters from their grandparents.
Michela juggles working for a sports management agency, whilst being mum to her daughters Fiamma & Serafina, and contributing to the Chiappa Sisters blog and YouTube channel, which has taken the vlogging world by storm. The channel showcases simple and accessible recipes for all the family including quick and easy baby food recipes.
Michela has learned to guide her career and full time job whilst maintaining the values and traditions of the Italian household. Passionate about the importance of fresh wholesome home cooking, Michela likes to demonstrate how anyone can create delicious homemade food whilst having a family and a busy working life....
