Family feasts are where Meg finds inspiration for her baking.
“Our family get-togethers are amazing and I wish I could cook all the Indian treats like my aunty,” says Meg, who has Spanish and Indian heritage.
Studying education and Spanish at university, Meg is a self-taught baker, learning from cookbooks and cooking shows. As a child, she begged her father to let her borrow a kid’s cookbook from the library. Her dad said yes but only if he could pick what she could cook from it – profiteroles.
Meg has never looked back and dreams of one day making a living out of her passion.
“I’m planning on going to TAFE and my goal is to eventually open a bakery or a patisserie,” she says.
