Marcus is a dentist from Melbourne and a contestant in series 3 of The Great Australian Bake Off.
He’s the dentist with a love of everything naughty for his teeth – and Marcus wouldn’t have it any other way! “I have got a sweet tooth; you have to have some fun,” says Marcus. “But I obviously do look after my teeth and being a dentist I’m conscious of the amount of sugar I put in my bakes!”
Baking is in his blood, with his grandmothers avid CWA bakers and his family owning a B&B for which he regularly made baked goods. “I like baking a lot of savoury bakes and croissants,” he says. “I have always loved eating and had very chubby cheeks when I was a kid, and my mum was really into baking, so I just kind of fell into it.” While he’s confident that his baking will win over the judges, Marcus is nervous about one thing: “I’m a huge fan of Maggie, and when I learnt that I would be coming onto the show I did wonder if I would be able to speak when we first meet!”
