Lucy is first and foremost a mum and chief nourisher to her family of 5. A self-confessed “foodie”, qualified Nutritionist (Adv. Dip. Nutritional Medicine) and wholefoods cook, she’s been cooking and creating recipes since the day she was tall enough to reach the kitchen bench.
Watching her mum cook everything from scratch and travelling the world with her adventurous parents, ignited her passion to recreate the food of other cultures at home, and share them with her family and friends.
Her career in Nutrition began after nearly two decades working in film, television and public relations. In 2007 she was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and when conventional medicine failed to help her feel better, she embarked on a self-help journey, working with a Naturopath and using food as medicine to successfully manage her symptoms. Her love of food and it’s ability to heal the body, showed her the power and opportunity we have to change our state of health each and every day, and from there, she started her blog and her journey towards becoming a qualified Nutritionist.
Lucy is passionate about nourishing children with good food and establishing healthy eating habits. The first “1000 days” of life - from day 1 of conception to a child’s 2nd birthday - has been identified as a critical window of time that sets the stage for a person's lifelong health. By supporting this period of enormous potential and vulnerability with the right nutrition, we can build healthier and more prosperous futures for our children.
As a busy working mum, Lucy understands what it takes to feed hungry fussy mouths at the end of the day and offers practical solutions to make better food choices at every meal and create delicious nutritious recipes, no matter your skill, time or budget.
At Lucy’s table, meal times are about nourishment and enjoyment, so you won’t find any fancy food-styling or studio kitchens, just real food cooked in a home kitchen with well-loved pots and pans, miss-matched cutlery, sinks filled with washing up, children (and floors) covered in food because real life, includes all the burnt bits around the edges.
Lucy lives on Sydney’s northern beaches with her boys: husband, Matt, and little boy, Otis, and shares time being second-mum to her two step-daughters.... Read more.
