Youngest baker Laura is not letting her age set her back, “being the youngest doesn’t faze me, I’m the generation of YouTube, and that is where I’ve learnt most things!” Walking into the shed for the first time was a surreal experience for Laura, “my first day on set felt like magic! Meeting Matt and Maggie was amazing, Maggie is a floating angel.” Laura grew up watching her Grandma bake and has fond memories of making caramel popcorn for her family.
A healthy and modern baker, Laura loves to experiment with vegan recipes, creating chickpea meringue and cauliflower, avocado chocolate cake. Her baking strengths are soft pretzels, pumpkin chocolate cake with cauliflower and avocado cheese icing and gingerbread houses. Although Laura adds, “my biggest disaster was making my annual gingerbread house for Christmas day, when I left it to set, the whole cake melted on the floor.” Laura lives at home with her mum, dad and brother and her dad is her biggest fan!...
