Carlotta is a legendary Australian cabaret performer, television celebrity and transgender advocate who began her career as an original member of the long-running Les Girls
It started in 1963 in the heart of Sydney's Kings Cross. At the age of 18 she was one of the very first people in Australia to have a sex change operation. Carlotta quickly rose through the ranks of the show to eventually become the compere and its most famous member. In 1993, the Les Girls show went on-the-road, touring Australia, which inspired the film "Priscilla Queen of the Desert". By the time she left the show for the final time in 1992 she had spent a total of 26 years performing with the troupe.
She regularly features at an array of events and gala premieres, including Sydney's Mardi Gras, has had numerous television roles appearing on Number 96, Beauty and the Beast and most recently has collaborated closely with producers on the soon-to-be released telemovie ‘Carlotta’ based on her amazing life played by actress Jessica Marais.
