Lamb crackling is possible, and it's a game-changer!
Nothing is more enticing than a perfect crackle on a roast. But what if you don't eat pork? Can you get the same amazing texture from other meat? Yes! Using an air-fryer, you can get incredible crackling on your lamb roast!
The delicious recipe was recently shared to the Share Kmart Air Fryer Recipes Australia Facebook group by aussie_keto_prepper. The post gained instant attention as a unique way to have your lamb, forever impacting many people's Sunday roasts.
She introduced her super-simple recipe, accompanied by mouthwatering pictures: "LAMB CRACKLE is a thing." And here's how she did it:
- 1kg lamb roast
To prep your meat, score the fat in a diagonal with a sharp knife, as you would a pork roast. Then, dry the meat's surface to ensure the ultimate crisp. Finally, salt the scored section, making sure to rub salt into the cuts.
Cook the air-fryer at 200 degrees for 15 minutes and then reduce to 180 for an additional 20 minutes. @aussie_keto_prepper used a 3.2L air-fryer for her roast.
Remove from the basket and let the meat rest for 10 minutes. Slice and enjoy!
People in the group immediately freaked out about how delicious the lamb looked and that lamb crackling was even possible:
