Would You Like Some Gold With Your Ice Cream?

Forget choc-tops. Gilded soft serves are what you really want!

Hakuichi - a Japanese gold leaf and foil manufacturer - is putting your average ice cream to shame with the advent of a soft serve covered in gold.

The company makes edible gold products and has found a market of people literally hungry for that 24-carat goodness.

The Hakuichi soft serve is dusted in gold shavings and then draped in shiny gold leaf.

All up, it will set you back 1,000 Yen or roughly $12. Not too steep for a precious metal, right?

The trend is taking off worldwide, with Milkcow cafe in Malaysia also picking up the pretty menu item.

While gold leaf isn't new to the culinary world, we've never seen it quite like this before!
