7 new white wines to try if you’re bored of sauv blanc

Want to enjoy something a bit different?

White wine drinkers tend to be creatures of habit. Whether we're partial to a Sauvignon Blanc or a Chardonnay, a Riesling or a Pinot Grigio, we all seem to stick to the varietal we know best.

“White wine is an excellent choice of wine to enjoy with a variety of meals. Varietals such as Vermentino, Albariño and Sauvignon Blanc have a high acidity which makes these wines perfect for cuisines with bold flavours," says BWS Wine Category Manager, Nitin Aurora.

"On the other hand, Fiano and Chardonnay are less acidic varietals that are still full of flavour. These wines are a great balance with lighter meals, such as seafood or risotto with spring vegetables. It's safe to say if you like it, it's good wine!”

However, if you're keen to shake things up, or perhaps want to bring something new to your upcoming dinner party or barbecue, Nitin has identified these drops as the best new wines to try if you're looking for a white.
