What to Do With Your Leftovers

It's time to start getting smarter about leftovers in your kitchen.

Each year 8 to 10 billion dollars of food is wasted in commercial and residential kitchens. That’s around four million tonnes of food that goes straight to landfill!

If you often find yourself wondering what to do with leftover fruit, veggies and general food waste, you're not alone. Research conducted by Ozharvest, Australia's food rescue organisation, found that Australians throw away one of every five shopping bags, which equates to every Australian household throwing out $1,036 worth of groceries each year. Now that's a lot of food!

At the recent Ozharvest CEO cook off, some of Australia's top chefs spoke to LifeStyle FOOD about what they do with their leftovers (check out the video below) and it really got us thinking.

So, there's really no excuse to throwing away your leftovers. Here are a few delicious recipe ideas which you can whip up from your kitchen leftovers in no time!
