In the past, vegans have been woefully underrepresented at restaurant chains around Australia. But that is slowly but surely starting to change with San Churro joining early vegan adopter Lord of the Fries by introducing a new range of PETA-approved meals to their menus.
San Churro will unveil an all-new autumn menu nationally with 24 vegan desserts and drinks on Tuesday, April 10. As well as their classic favourites - churros ready to dip in dark chocolate, there are plenty of new creations. Our favourite? The Happy Vegan - a freshly-made-to-order churro bowl rolled in cinnamon sugar, filled with vegan salted caramel and honeycomb gelato, drizzled with dark chocolate and then topped with Oreos and fresh strawberries.
And yes, we recommend a side of San Churro's new vegan hot chocolate.
Lord of the Fries has been pumping out vegan fries and burgers since 2005. And now they're adding an all-day breakfast to their ever-expanding menu.
There are six new dishes on the list - all accompanied by a crispy hash brown - which give vegans and non-vegans alike a taste of everybody's favourite brunch staples.
The hero of the range is the Chick'n Waffle - two waffles buns filled with a chick'n patty, vegan bacon and maple syrup. But there are plenty of twists on traditional favourites too including vegan eggs and fakin' bacon and a classic BLT (with vegan bacon in place of the usual variety).
