This newly opened Italian cocktail bar has taken out the title in the global competition.
Since recently opening just seven months ago, Maybe Sammy has added a new sense of style and sophistication to The Rocks area in Sydney. The bar is beautifully renovated, honouring the golden era of the very chic '50s Vegas bar in a modern setting.
The long, emerald green bar with a marble top is the perfect spot for post-work drinks or an afternoon spritz, alongside a few plates from their delicious Italian bar menu.
And while this cocktail bar has made its mark on the Sydney bar scene - it's not all its famous for.
The bar was recently crowned Best International New Cocktail Bar at the 13th Annual Spirited Awards held in New Orleans - up against high competition in London and Rome.
Co-owners, Stefano Catino and Vince Lombardo opened Maybe Sammy as a yonger sibling to their thriving Italian restaurants, Maybe Frank.
While the authentic Italian menu and chic, old-world decor of the restaurants generate a social buzz - it's the attention to the wide range of cocktails that's always been a focus, thanks to the group's creative director - Andrea Gauldi who dons the title of the Australian Bartender Of The Year in 2017.
To earn the gold title at the Annual Spirited Awards, the bar must produce a considerable impact on the local cocktail culture, as well as provide exceptional service, decor, creativity and execution of drinks.
