There's a New Foodie Trend in Town: Dessert Burgers

Warning – mouth-watering deliciousness ahead.

Just when we thought they’d done it all - freak shakes, Nutella kebabs and coffee cones, our sweet, sweet world gives us the dessert burger.

It’s a simple concept; dinner meets dessert. Yet, this trend has us endlessly scrooling (scrolling and drooling).

A number of Aussie cafes and restaurants are already plating up their own interpretation of the tasty trend with inventive hybrids and decadent bun-stuffers.

Some Insta-worthy dessert burgers combine both sweet and savoury, with sugary brioche or doughnut buns laden with bacon and cheese, while others just go straight for the sweet tooth and skip on the savoury fillings. Fairy floss, sprinkles, gelato, chocolate – the possibilities are endless. If only they were calorie free!
