Star Baker Angela Shares Her Top Pie Making Tips

Angela has taken the Star Baker crown again in episode 4 for her incredible pies.

In the video above she shares her must-know pie tips for baking the perfect pie.

Check out some of Angela's perfect pie tips

  1. When you're assembling a deep dish fruit pie always cook your filling first
  2. Thicken your filling with a bit of corn flour so it will hold its shape within the pie
  3. When you are baking your pie - before you put your filling in, always add a layer of toasted almond meal over top of the pastry because it will absorb the filing and the base will not go soggy
  4. Put a foil cover around the edges of your pie to protect the edges from browning too much while its still cooking through the centre, the top and the base
