Salad Cakes Are Happening

Well that's one way to introduce more fruit and veg into your diet!

If you think ordering a salad is boring, you haven't experienced the salad cake.

A cafe in Japan has created a fun new way for its patrons to eat salad.

The artful little cakes come in a range of colours with precisely twirled, curled and scattered decorations.

The Vegedeco Salad Cafe in Nagoya says the cake was created by Mitsuki Moriyasu - "a Japanese food designer who aims to combine health and beauty."

The best part? One of these beauties will set your back less than 800 Yen - or about $10!

So is this the culinary invention of the decade, or a cruel trick for cake-lovers?

Either way, you have to admit these "cakes" are a work of art.
