Rockpool turns 20

Neil Perry, Trish Richards and the team behind Rockpool, have been wowing Sydney fine diners for the past two decades.

While this is an incredible achievement in any industry, in the fickle restaurant world this is a milestone that should really be celebrated in style.

Luckily for us the team behind Rockpool have decided to do just that. For the rest of 2009 Rockpool will be offering a special birthday dinner for its customers. The menu will feature five of Rockpool’s iconic dishes that have graced their menu since its inception. The menu will change regularly and is $150 a head (wine to match is available for an extra $65).

The current five-course menu includes their zucchini and parmesan tart; slow cooked abalone, drunken chicken and noodle salad with Chinese flavours; John dory fillet seared on Indian pastry served with dhal, tomato braised silverbeet and cardamom; slow roast English breed lamb with “our ratatouille” and cumin mayonnaise; and finally poached cherries with broken cheesecake and pistachio.

For the Rockpool die-hards this is a great opportunity to take a trip down memory lane. For those among us who have not had the pleasure this is the ultimate excuse to get in there and see why people have been going back year after year.
