Orange FOOD and Wine Week 2009

For 18 years the local chefs, producers and wine makers of Orange have been coming together to show off the best the region has to offer. Orange Food and Wine Week has turned into one of the must-attend foodie events in Australia. From specialty dinners to food and wine trails, farmers’ markets, cooking classes and music, there is something for everyone.

In 2009 the team behind Orange Food and Wine week are devoted to celebrating the locals. One of the highlights of the event, the “100 Mile Diet” is designed to celebrate all the fabulous producers in the area. By encouraging the locals to look to their own doorstep first for food and wine, they will not only be supporting the producers and wineries in the region, they will also be reducing the miles that food could potentially travel – thus helping the environment.

The residents have been following this diet since the beginning of February and for your opportunity to indulge in the best of the local produce the "100 Mile Dinner with Neighbours" will be held on the 20th April.

In 2009 the Orange Food and Wine Week will actually run for 10 days, from the 17th to the 26th April.
