You might have your go-to method - a masher, a ricer or a simple fork - but one mum has revealed her potato secret, and all you need is a kitchen classic - your electric mixer.
Taking to the Mums Who Cook, Clean and Organise - Australia Facebook Group, one savvy mum shared her mixer technique, claiming that it provides "perfect mashed potato every time".
Fellow members were excited about the whipping method. Many people said that they also rely on hand or standing mixers to create the perfect mash potatoes.
“Been doing it this way since I moved out of home in 1997,” commented one potato fan, while another wrote: "My grandmother used to do it and I learnt it from her - tastes so much better."
The tip was new to many others, who couldn't wait to implement the hack into their daily cooking:
“Family of seven. As mashing the potatoes is a killer - will be trying this for sure,” one mum wrote.
