Melbourne Macaron Competition

Macaron fever has hit Melbourne! These delicate morsels with their crispy meringue shells and dreamy ganache centre are on the tip of everyone’s tongue. To honour the food capital’s obsession with macarons, on 26th October Melbourne shall celebrate the macaron in the grand style it deserves. Melbourne’s top 20 esteemed pastry chefs will showcase their macarons in a competition to win 'Best Macaron' and will be judged on design, innovation and taste.

Judging the competition this year are macaron maestro and pastry chef Adriano Zumbo (Zumbo), Melbourne food critic Larissa Dubecki and a mystery third judge who will be revealed on the day of the competition.

The top 20 establishments competing in the inaugural Melbourne Macaron competition in 2010 are:
