What’s the best thing about your job? Watching and learning from the most amazing cake decorations in the world.
What qualities/skills/training do you think are needed to be a successful cake decorator/designer? An eye for detail, creativity, organisation and efficiency - plus speed!
What’s the most challenging cake you’ve had to make/design? A three tiered and piped wedding cake with loads of sugar flowers.
What’s been the most outrageous/ridiculous request? Requests for cake orders to be completed for the next day.
Any disasters? Water damage from a leaking air conditioner spoiled a whole cake once and we had to re-do the whole thing!
What’s your favourite type of cake to make/design? Wedding cakes – simply beautiful.
What’s your favourite type of cake to eat? Chocolate cake – satisfies a 3 pm craving every time.
