Maggie Beer is Heading to Japan for a Brand New Show

If you can't get enough of Australia's friendliest chef, you can soon see her thrown into the wild and wonderful culinary scene of Japan.

Maggie Beer has announced a one-off special, 'Maggie in Japan', for Foxtel next year.

The feature will follow the beloved chef and Great Australian Bake Off judge through Japan to explore and experience the essence of Japanese cuisine.

Maggie will immerse herself in the local food scene and, with the help of both traditional and new wave chefs, she'll learn about the unique culture, ingredients and techniques at the heart of Japanese cooking.

Maggie will also open up and delve into why Japan has some rather unique food memories for her.

"I have had some of the greatest food experiences of my life in Japan. I am fascinated by every part of their food culture where there is such pride in every person in the cycle of food at every level," Maggie said upon the announcement of her new show.

"It’s a truly passionate endeavour for me to discover even more and be able to share this excitement with everyone."

The one-hour special will be filmed later this year, and air on LifeStyle FOOD in 2017.
